This year, Northwest University’s Evening is being held on Fri., Apr. 21 at Sodo Park in Seattle. The event will be from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Student Activities Board (SAB) Coordinator, Lauren Curry, said this year’s Evening will be different from previous years.

“This year is a little different because the event is usually held at a place where the entertainment is built in, but this year it’s not at a museum or on a yacht. This year the entertainment is brought to us,” said Curry.

The night is designed to be more intimate in terms of students focusing more on each other’s company rather than the venue’s attractions. SAB is bringing all sorts of fun activities to the venue, Sodo Park. There will be pool tables, shuffleboard, foosball, giant checkers, a photo booth as well as a DJ. If oversized board games aren’t appealing, there will also be “chill spots” where couches and chairs.

While there will be cheese and meat hors d’oeuvres, most students should have dinner beforehand. Skip dessert at the restaurant, though, because Sodo Park’s housemade ding dongs and macarons are delectable. Seasonal lemonades and sodas will also be provided.

Evening is only from 8:00-11:00 p.m. If students wish to have the night continue, be sure to head north to enjoy the features of the Seattle Center illuminated in the dark, or take a quick jaunt west for a stroll on Alki Beach.

Still hungry after Evening’s macarons and music? For a savory – or sweet – finish to the night, take advantage of the all-you-can-eat hash browns or splitting a slice of the “Epic Chocolate Cake” with a friend at Beth’s Café, open 24 hours in Seattle’s Green Lake district.

Evening 2017 is guaranteed to bring a night of fun and community with all your friends before the semester ends.
