Every year the final weeks of school seem to creep up out of nowhere, leaving Northwest University students in a frenzy to cram in the final hours of studying, presentation preparation, and essay writing. For those who are in their final semester, the weeks seem to be flying by even faster than before.

Graduation can be a stressful time for seniors. Whether they have post-graduation plans perfectly mapped out or are just trying to figure out how they are going to make it to commencement without losing their minds, all have one thing in common—all are about to enter into a new, crazy, exciting, and unknown season of life.

Since graduating already carries enough anxiety of its own, why add the stress of uncertainty surrounding commencement activities? Below you will find an overview of the graduation festivities being offered for seniors leading up to the moment when we finally complete their time at NU.

The Baccalaureate Chapel will be taking place in Butterfield Chapel from 10:40 a.m. to 11:40 a.m. on Fri., Apr. 28. This chapel is to honor and celebrate the seniors who will be graduating, and all seniors are encouraged to wear their robes for this event. Family members and friends are welcome to attend.

NU will also be hosting a New Alumni Breakfast at Overlake Christian Church on Fri., May 5. The breakfast will take place at 9:00 a.m., directly before commencement practice. To RSVP for this breakfast, follow the link: https://www.northwestu.edu/forms/alumni-breakfast/.

Directly following the New Alumni Breakfast is commencement practice. This will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Overlake Christian Church.

On the evening of May 5, seniors are invited to attend the graduate reception happening on campus at NU from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Different departments will meet in different locations on campus as professors give a final farewell to seniors. Toward the end of the event, all seniors will come together in the chapel for a farewell from President Castleberry.

Each department will meet from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Family members and friends are welcome to attend this event.
