Northwest University signed an agreement this week with Changchun University, located in the Jilin Province of northeast China.
Dr. Joseph Castleberry made the announcement yesterday via a public Facebook post.
“Today we signed an agreement between Northwest University and our partner, Changchun University. We expect to offer joint degree programs in China and in Kirkland to great mutual benefit,” Castleberry’s post said.
The agreement may allow Chinese students to study in NU’s College of Education, as well as the Dept. of Communication Studies and the Dept. of Psychology, among other programs, in the College of Arts & Sciences, said Will Mari, communication studies program chair.
“I’m looking forward to hearing more details about this initiative very soon, so we can begin to plan accordingly with regards to faculty hires, staff support, and other learning resources, ” he said.
The Talon will complete a follow-up story when more information is available.
