On Monday, Oct. 28, the Northwest University College of Business (COB) inducted students into both the Business Honors Society, Delta Mu Delta, and into the college itself. For many students, this event marked the beginning of a journey towards their focused academic studies and eventual careers. The evening started with a time of networking in the HSC fireside room, where students, faculty, friends and family could talk and enjoy a variety of refreshments including sparkling cider and a chocolate fountain. The ceremony began in HSC 104 with a welcome from Dr. Tony Pizelo and Dr. Teresa Gillespie, an opening prayer by Brother Todd Nelson and the introduction of the night’s guest speaker, Petrice Bokako, by Dr. Rowlanda Cawthon.
Bokako, an NU alumnus and Act Six scholar, spoke about her experience moving to the United States from Congo and its impact on her time at NU. Additionally, Bokako shared about the integration of her faith in the workplace and in her life journey. She shared Proverbs 3:5-6 with those in attendance, emphasizing the importance of faith and encouraging students to trust in God and His plans.
Following Bokako’s speech, Pizelo began the induction ceremony. The event concluded with additional time for refreshments and fellowship.
